Developing Story: Supreme Court Announces Decision on Executive Order

Nationalities Service Center (NSC) is disheartened by the Supreme Court’s decision to partially stay the injunctions of the lower courts and allow a limited version of the Executive Order, otherwise known as the “Travel Ban,"  to go into effect over the next several days. However, there are some glimmers of hope inherent in the decision, and we are seeking clarity on the full implications for the hundreds of NSC clients that may be impacted. We also are talking with our national partners about resiliency strategies. “Around the world, there are refugees from war or disaster torn countries and immigrants from six predominantly Muslim countries preparing to come to the United States who may feel the full impact of this decision and its cascading consequences,” said Margaret O’Sullivan, Executive Director of the Nationalities Service Center. “We will do everything we can to be a resource for them.”
