NSC Announces Steven Larín as its new Deputy Director
Philadelphia, PA (February 14, 2020) – Nationalities Service Center recently announced the appointment of Steven LarÃn, Esq., as the agency’s new Deputy Director. In this position, Steven will serve as the top Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer for the organization as well as expand NSC’s role in the policy and advocacy realm in Philadelphia and at the state and national level. “We can’t imagine a better person to strengthen the organization and enhance our advocacy for the immigrant and refugee clients NSC serves,” said Nan Feyler, NSC’s Board Chair.

LarÃn joined NSC in April of 2006 as a Staff Attorney. Since then he has served the agency with distinction in several capacities over his fourteen-year tenure, including Legal Director, Interim Executive Director and Senior Director of Legal and Immigration Policy. LarÃn will soon be celebrating twenty years of impassioned public service, the majority of which has been focused on helping immigrants and refugees seeking legal remedies here in the Philadelphia region. Margaret O’Sullivan, Nationalities Services Center’s Executive Director, said, “As the child of Salvadoran immigrants, Steven is uniquely aware of the challenges immigrants today are facing and inspires us by his authentic empathy and extraordinary commitment to help other families in need.”
LarÃn has served as an Adjunct Professor for the Immigration Law Clinic at Temple University – Beasley School of Law and for the Political Science Department at La Salle University. He is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Hispanic Bar Association of Pennsylvania, and the American Immigration Lawyers Association –Philadelphia Chapter. In addition to overseeing NSC’s Legal Services Department and immigration policy efforts, LarÃn conducts community presentations and CLE trainings on various immigration topics, most recently lecturing on the Immigration Executive Actions and on Immigration Relief for Unaccompanied Children.
A graduate of Swarthmore College and Loyola Law School – Los Angeles, he is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and California and is a native Spanish speaker.
